Maintenance Tips
WINTER

Remove all hoses from outside faucets.
If possible, temporarily enclose around house from ground up. (Remove for summer)
Let water drip when temperature is 25-30 degrees.
Let water drip faster, fine stream, when 20-25 degrees.
Let water run freely when 20 degrees or below.
Insert toothpick under rubber ball in water closet tank so it will run slowly.
Check sink, lavatory and tub drains periodically. In case they freeze, do not let them run over.
Whatever you did before, do it again if you did not have any problems.
WATER HEATERS
SUMMER - Turn thermostat between normal and warm.
WINTER - Turn thermostat between normal and hot.
VACATION - Turn water heater to pilot.
FAUCETS
Turn off and on softly and easily - will not cut washers.
SEWER LINE - (When line is not stopped up)
Flush cup of salt in water closet at night before going to bed. This will not kill roots, it will just stunt their growth. Do this ONCE A WEEK.
SINK LINE - (When line is not stopped up)
Use (1) box of soda in drain before going to bed. Let faucet drip all night. Do this once a week to once a month.
